Pagham Harbour

Redshank
We decided to spend the day in Pagham harbour were we saw a variety of birds 

We started the day at the breech pool were we found out that we had no padlock but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our day at the breech pool we saw 2 Bearded tit a rare bird for the breech pool also one Bittern we saw the bird in flight 3 times and once in the reeds which was amazing to see (a very rare bird to Pagham harbour) other birds noted were
Lots of Pintail.
Redshank.
Dunlin.
Bar tailed godwit.
Black tailed godwits.
500 Wigeon.
Bar tailed godwit
Teal.
Turnstone.
Curlew.
1 Kestrel with a wader in it talons before dropping it over the harbour.
1 Buzzard
1000+ Pale bellied Brent goose.

Om the walk round to the spit there was a mixed flock of Yellowhammers and linnets in the harbour there was Shelduck, Avocets, Lapwing, Lesser black backed gull and greater black backed gull.

Scaup


From the hide at Pagham spit we had superb female Scaup which gave amazing views also the was Black necked grebe also other birds noted were Oystercatcher, Skylarks, redshank. On the sea there were 30-50 Common Scoter also 20+ Med gulls all in all a good day Birding.
