Wader bonanza part one

Collard pratincole
We decided to head up to Rosper road pools, Lincolnshire for the Collard Pratincole that had turned up during the week.

Rob picked us up at 8:00 am and we headed up to the Pratincole, after a five hour drive we arrived just before two pm, after waiting around for four hours we had lots of Swallows, House martins and one Sand martin and Rob and dad heard and dad saw a Lesser whitethroat, whilst we were thinking about moving on i spotted the Collard Pratincole fly in high from the south and down into the pools were we got amazing views of it flying around right in front of us we watched the bird for about 35 minutes before it disappeared over the reeds, also a Grasshopper warbler was heard reeling

From here we headed to Tetney locks for the seven  Dotterel that have taken up residents here, some guy said that they were really close but when we saw them they were distance in the field but we got good views of them through the scope, there was also two Yellow wagtails and a few sedge warblers.

From here we headed to Brandon were we stayed over the night and on the way i had a Merlin and a Barn owl from the car .
