Irania Gutturalis

White throated robin
We met up with Matt Eade and his friend Jack Bujok at Pease pottage at 5:45 and then headed up to Hartlepool, Cleveland for the White-throated robin (3 for Britain and Ireland, 1st for Cleveland), we got there at 11:00 and parked up opposite the Bowling Green. and there was crowd of  50 birders all looking on to the bowling green, so the bird must been on view ,great so we walked over to them and straight away saw the White-throated robin, we then moved round the corner for a closer look and got with in 12 ft away, the orange flanks were very visible ,and white throat and the very long legs we saw the bird for about 30 minutes before it flew towards the doctor’s garden.

  1. You had a result there. I only had a very limited amount of time to view the bird doing nothing from atop a van when I went. Honey-buzzard is a bird that still eludes me in Britain.
