Shetland Day 3

This morning we headed south, stopping of at a few garden a went, i self found 2 Yellow browed warbler in to diffrent gardens which i thought was not bad, in Sumborough hotel there was nothing of note but, but in the bay, Dad picked out 2 Long tailed ducks there was also a summer plumage Great northern diver , Red throated diver, Guillemots and a few Black guillemots about 10 Porpoise were also in the bay with a few Seal, along the beach we picked out Turnstone, Sandling and 1Curlew sandpiper.

At Quendale we had Wheatears, Whinchats, Blackcaps, swallows and a nice female Merlin, we then got a Text message from Ashley to tell us there was a Little bunting showing well on Whalsay, which saw us heading north to catch the ferrie, at the ferrie port we saw a summer  plumage Black throated diver, at vaivoe on Whalsay we were soon watching a very obliging Little bunting whilst sitting in the car, What a great bird thanks to Ashley and Dan for putting us on it other birds noted were, Wheatear, 2 Ruff, Golden plover and a few lapwing, from here we headed back to the Diggs after another very successfully day

Climping 15-16 August 2015.

Saturday 15th August 2015 Very calm morning cover all of the patch, very good numbers of birds moving totals. Pied Flycatcher. 6:35-...
