Scotland day 3




Parrot Crossbill
An early start saw us head back to Loch Garten for another Cappercallie watch, we managed to get brief view of a male Cappercallie in a distance tree, there was also lots of Siskins about on the feeders showing very well, the resident Osprey we showing really well with the male eating a fish just below the nest, at Tulloch moor we had great views of 1 more Black grouse.

Onto Angach, when we arrived we had amazing views of 3 Red squirrels we also had 3 Crested tits and a few Coal tits plus lots more Siskins we then moved onto a disclosed site for Parrot and Scottish Crossbills we had directions to, when we arrived we found this little hide that had been set up but was more like a bunker whilst in the hide we had 2 Raven, Common buzzard but no Crossbills, as we left the hide we had then 3 bird flew into a high pine, bingo we had Parrot Crossbills i managed to creep up the ground and got within a few feet of the birds, Rob and Dad lost me in the Heather.

We then headed to Findhorn bay, On the way we had 5 Red Grouse, when we arrived at the Bay we had 3+Black throated diver close inshore, loads of Long tailed duck, 2+ Velvet scoter, Razorbills, Sandwich terns and Red breasted merganser.

At Loch Morlich later in the evening and had amazing views of Crested tits were had at eye level, over birds on note were, Goldcrest, Siskins, Meadow pipit's and Golden eye.
