Birding Latley

American Buff Bellied Pipit
I would just like to say that I’m sorry for not posting Latley, but i hope to get back into the swing of things.
Hooded Merganser
In November me and Dad went and saw the Female Hooded Merganser which is a very good candidate to be accepted fingers crossed, we also saw plenty of black tailed godwits, Dunlin, Redshanks, Pintail Ducks, Wigeon, teal and a few Knot around in the harbour, that was about it for November we mostly stuck to Climping were there was nothing much of note.

American Buff Bellied Pipit
But in December me and Dad when up to pulborough Brooks to look for Waxwings and Lesser spotted woodpecker which kept getting seen during the week, we spent the majority of the day up there and there was no of either birds, but we did get some good views of Nuthatch and Marsh Tits.

Then last week me and Dad made a visit to Queen mother reservoir for the American Buff Bellied Pipit which would be a lifer for me and Dad, when arrived we paid our 4 entry fee and made the long walk along the dam bank, all the way there we kept getting news that it was still there and showing well, when we arrived at the crowed that kept getting further and further away we saw the Pipit and a o bingo it was showing well, we spent most the day watching the American Buff Bellied Pipit, we also Red necked grebe and Long tailed duck i hope to do a round up of the year in a few days so look forward to that.
