LONG BILLED DOWICTHER

We went to Poole for the long staying Long billed Dowitcher, seeing as the bird has been really close we fort we would try our luck with bird once again.

We arrived at Poole park (Boating lake) round about 10:30 to find it preening it self in the NE corner of the lake what a little beauty, it was only five foot away at times and the light was amazing giving some great photo opportunities.

Siskin
so dad managed to get some great shots of the Long billed Dowitcher, there were plenty of Mute swans, Canada goose, summer plumage Black headed gulls and one Black swan, we had a Kingfisher dart from behind the reeds and over to a small pond behind us, at the little pond we also noted a flock of 20+ Siskin and one Goldcrest and few Long tail tits, and goldfinches on the lake we noted Black tailed godwit, Redshanks and oystercatcher.

From here we moved on to Holes bay we didn’t note much but we saw
One Spotted redshank.
Two very low Buzzards giving amazing views.
                                                                                        Black tailed godwits and Shelduck.
