The Dark Side

With the weather looking better Today, we headed to Hawkhill inclosure in Beulia, we joined the crowd along the path and within 10 minutes dad spotted the Dark eyed junco as it hopped up onto a fallen tree brief but what a stunner, As we waited for another glimpse we had a flock of 8 Crossbills fly over and land into a distant dead tree we had 3 really stunning male and 5 females, about 45 minutes later the Dark eyed junco was picked up as it flew of towards another fallen pine tree we all moved over to the tree, and were amazed to find it sitting right out in the open for about 15 minutes, we could hardly believe our luck as we some decent record shot at a distance of 40 yards.

Other bird seen were Fieldfare 100s, Redwings 30+, Coal tits 3, Reed buntings 5+
