A Nice Day Out

Nuthatch
On Thursday the 23rd i headed over the Warnham LNR with Harry Ramm for the Mealy Redpoll, But dipped on that but got some nice shot of other stuff which i was very pleased with, we then tried for Bewicks Swans had 6 on the Amberly floods by the castle.

Slavonion Grebe
On Saturday the 25 we started the morning off at Pagham Harbor for the very showy Slavonion Grebe which was showing very well on the lagoon it was a shame about the light being very poor so all the photos were very rubbish there was also a very nice pair of Goldeneye aswell, whilst scanning the Harbor we had plenty of waders, including Golden & Grey Plover, Dunlin, Lapwing, Redshank, Spotted Redshank, Knot, Black & Bar-Tailed Godwits there was also plenty of Dark and Pale bellied Brent goose there was also a two Red-Breasted Merganser in the channel feeding, there was also lots of Teal, Wigeon and Pintail around the Harbor.

We then moved onto Coldwalthm for the Great Grey Shrike when we arrived there was no sign of the shrike so me and dad decided to walk out to the sewage farm were it was seen about 10 minutes before we arrived, after about 20 minutes of searching there was still no sign the best think i had was two Egyptian Goose flying towards Amberly, when walking back to the car there was a group of 3 people who had the Shrike so at long last we finally saw it was a distance but was showing well through the scope so i was happy with that, we then tried Burton Mill pond but there was nothing special there so i wont talk about that.
